Membership categories, fees and application
Memberships of the college is open for all the eligible professionals under following categories of memberships
Affiliate Member: Those who fulfil the following eligibility criteria, can apply for the affiliate membership of the college
(a) Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) registration as a medical practitioner
(b) Training or experience for at least one year in Venereology OR
(c) Those who have enrolled to the Diploma in Venereology training programme
Associate Member: Those who fulfil the following eligibility criteria can apply for the associate membership of the college
(a) Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) registration as a medical practitioner AND
(b) Recognized postgraduate medical qualification acceptable to the council of the college AND
(c) Training or experience for at least one year in Venereology.
Full Member: Those who fulfil the following eligibility criteria, can apply for the full membership of the college and are entitled to use the MSL CoSHH post nominal
(a) Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) registration as a medical practitioner AND
(b) Recognized doctorate postgraduate medical qualification in the field acceptable to the council AND
(c) Be a board certified consultant in a field acceptable to the council of the college
Fellow:
Full members can apply to become a Fellow of the college by submitting the complete curriculum vitae with proof documents. The council at its discretion selects members as Fellows of the college in recognition of distinguished services rendered to the science of Sexual Health and HIV Medicine. Fellows are entitled to use FSL CoSHH post nominal
Honorary Members:
The Council may from time to time admit distinguished persons as Honorary Members of the College, in recognition of their exceptional service to the science of Sexual Health and HIV Medicine after the evaluation of the complete curriculum vitae with proof documents alone with the discretion of the council. Honorary members are entitle to use the MSL CoSHH post nominal
Honorary Fellows:
The Council may from time to time admit distinguished persons as Honorary Fellows of the College, in recognition of their exceptional service to the science of Sexual Health and HIV Medicine after the evaluation of the complete curriculum vitae with proof documents along with the discretion of the council. Honorary fellows are entitle to use the FSL CoSHH post nominal
Membership fees: membership fees payable under each different categories of membership are as follows
- Affiliate member 1,000 LKR per annum, Life membership 5,000 LKR
- Associate member 1,000 LKR per annum, Life membership 5,000 LKR
- Full member 7,500 LKR on admission (include life membership)
- Fellows No membership payments
- Honorary members No membership payments
- Honorary fellows No membership payments
Membership Application:
Every person desiring to be admitted as a member of the College under any category of membership shall apply for admission using the membership application form and the relevant proof documents (certified copies) to the secretary, Sri Lanka College of Sexual Health and HIV Medicine. Each such application shall be considered by the Council and if acceptable such applicant shall be admitted as a member.
All persons admitted as members shall be bound by the Articles of Sri Lanka College of Sexual Health and HIV Medicine and any rules made by the Council from time to time.

Termination of membership shall be:
(a) By failure of a member to pay subscription or fees due to the College within such period as may be prescribed in the notice sent by the council to the member.
(b) on the resignation of a member subject to one month previous notice in writing given to the College and payment of all subscriptions (If payable) then due.
(c) when a motion of no confidence is passed against a member with such motion being moved at an Special General Meeting or an Annual General Meeting and at least half of the voting members of the College attending such meeting and at least two thirds of the members present at such meeting voting by secret ballot in favour of the motion of no confidence.
Termination of membership of the College shall automatically entail termination of membership of the Council.
